Unit 10, Lesson 1 of 6
Brainlag Music

Chromatic chords in a piano extract

Music theory, Orchestral and chamber scores, 12 minutes

Finding and naming a chromatic chord inside a printed piano extract.

The same method, more notes

Name a chord in an extract as at Grade 6: collect every note at the letter from both staves and stack them. A chromatic chord shows itself by an accidental that is not in the key. Chromatic chords come just before the cadence, so look there first.
